# Plans and billing

Choose a plan for your team, pay through Paddle, change seats or plans, and see what happens when you downgrade, cancel or miss a payment.

Plans belong to teams, not to people: one team has one plan and one bill, and its limits cover all of the team's workspaces. Every plan has the same modelling, collaboration and AI features; plans differ in capacity, history and support. The [pricing page](https://archibara.com/pricing/) lists the prices and every limit.

## The plans

- **Free** is for trying Archibara and for small personal models: a single workspace, a few registered viewers, a short snapshot history without pinning, and personal MCP keys that last at most 7 days. Only the team owner edits.
- **Individual** is for one architect's own work: more workspaces, larger models, a longer snapshot history with pinned snapshots, more share links and more MCP usage. Only the owner edits; invite other people as viewers. Individual is currently billed yearly only.
- **Team** is for people who model together. You pay per editor seat, and viewers and guests are free and unlimited. It has room for many workspaces, large models, a year of snapshot history and unlimited share links, and its MCP allowance grows with each seat. Team is billed monthly or yearly, and a team can start with one seat.
- **Enterprise** is arranged by agreement: an annual contract, a dedicated instance and agreed capacity. Write to us through the [contact page](https://archibara.com/contact/).

Most limits apply to the whole team: workspaces, editors, registered viewers, storage, imports and MCP usage. Three apply to each workspace separately: objects (objects and connections together), people online at the same time, and snapshots.

To see where your team stands, open the profile menu, select **Teams and plans** and look at **Current usage**.

## Who manages billing

The team's **Owner**, **Administrator** and **Billing** roles can change the plan and seats. Other members can see the plan but not change it; when they reach a limit, Archibara suggests asking the team owner.

## Upgrade

1. Open the profile menu and select **Teams and plans**. If you have several teams, choose the team first.
2. Under **Plans and billing**, choose the **Billing period**: **Yearly · save 20%** or **Monthly**.
3. For Team, set the number of **Team editor seats**.
4. Select **Choose plan** on the plan you want. **Confirm plan change** summarises the plan, seats and price.
5. Select **Continue to payment** and pay in the secure checkout window. The plan changes as soon as the payment is confirmed.

Payments are handled by Paddle, our reseller and Merchant of Record. Paddle takes the payment, handles VAT and sales tax, and sends your receipts. Archibara never receives your card details.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. **Invoices and billing** opens Paddle's customer portal, where you find your invoices and can update your payment method.

## Change seats, plan or billing period

Change the seats or billing period and select **Apply subscription changes**, or select **Choose plan** on another plan. The confirmation dialog always says what will happen before anything is charged:

| Change | Takes effect | Payment |
| --- | --- | --- |
| A higher paid plan, or more seats on a monthly Team plan | Now | Your saved payment method is charged the prorated difference for the rest of the current period |
| More seats on a yearly Team plan | Now | Seats that editors actually occupy are billed pro rata at the next quarterly seat adjustment |
| Fewer seats, a lower paid plan, or another billing period | At the end of the current paid period | Nothing is charged now |
| Free | At the end of the current paid period | No further charges |

While a change is scheduled, **Teams and plans** shows it with its date, and **Keep current plan** cancels it.

Seats cannot go below the number of editors who occupy one. To use fewer seats, first change editors to Viewers or remove them; see [Editor seats](/docs/teams-and-roles/#editor-seats).

## Downgrades never delete data

You can move to a smaller plan even if you currently use more than it allows. The confirmation dialog lists everything that is over the new limits. Nothing is deleted; the content above the limits becomes read-only instead:

- If a team-wide limit is exceeded, such as editors or workspaces, the whole team becomes read-only.
- If a per-workspace limit is exceeded, such as objects or snapshots, only those workspaces become read-only.

Read-only content can still be opened, searched and exported. Editing returns as soon as usage fits the plan again, or when you choose a plan with more room.

## Cancel

To cancel, choose **Free** in **Teams and plans** and confirm with **Schedule change**. You can also cancel in Paddle's customer portal or through Paddle's buyer support. Your paid plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for; then the team moves to Free, and anything above the Free limits becomes read-only. Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not by itself refund an earlier payment.

## Refunds

Paddle decides on refunds under its buyer terms and the law that applies to you. Read [Refunds and cancellation](https://archibara.com/refunds/) for how to request one.

## Failed payments and inactive teams

- If a renewal payment fails, the team's status becomes **Payment overdue** and you have a 7-day grace period to update your payment method. After that, the team is read-only until the payment succeeds. Your models stay intact.
- A Free team whose members have not signed in for 90 days becomes **Inactive** and read-only. The next verified sign-in makes it editable again. Inactivity never deletes a model.
